For this project we worked alongside service users in a Dundee care home and day centre to co-create two tracks for a CD. The theme was Great Journeys and we kept the form that the audio would take open, so that the two groups could decide what they wanted to create. We had great sessions together, exploring themes, moods and forms; writing lyrics and poetry, jamming together and recording everyone’s playing and singing – with a playful final session shooting images for the CD artwork, which you can see on this page. The two tracks are completely different – the care home creators were keen to make a catchy song and the day centre group created something with a far looser form and more focus on jamming and improvisation.
