We started offering participatory music sessions to care homes in Fife in November 2018. They're facilitated by John and Emma and they're essentially a jam session, where we all make music together. The focus is on creating together in the moment, as we play, sing, scat and dance. The people we're working with are telling us it's stimulating, rewarding and good fun to jam together . . . and we agree. We take a laid-back chilled approach when we're delivering these sessions and we believe this offers a different way to get people involved in music activities in the care home, increasing choice and inclusion. In 2021 we started delivering our jam sessions over Zoom to offer an alternative way of getting us in for a jam when it's difficult to have people visit the care home.
